University City of Jena in Thuringia

Jena is the second largest city in the state of Thuringia after the state capital Erfurt - with its historically grown city centre is an extraordinarily charming city.

Surrounded by green mountainous countryside and nestled in the Saale valley, this city offers a high residential and leisure value; the cultural offerings are diverse and appealing.

Southerly of Jena, the A4 motorway crosses the city and about 20 km east of Jena runs the Berlin - Munich motorway (A 9). Jena is connected to all German and European capitals and major cities via the rail network, and there is a busy ICE and regional rail service. Leipzig-Halle Airport is about 90 km away, Erfurt-Weimar Airport about 50 km.
